Frankfurt, 19 January 2023 – Ginmon, the independent digital asset manager based in Frankfurt am Main, has strengthened its advisory board. Since 1 January 2023, banking and FinTech expert Markus Pertlwieser (48) has been advising the management of Ginmon. Pertlwieser is expected to support Ginmon's management in significantly advancing the planned expansion of the digital asset manager's business relationships with banks, fund providers, and insurance companies in 2023. Ginmon aims to establish this so-called B2B business as a second strong pillar.
Ginmon was founded in 2015 and currently manages assets of more than 300 million euros for its clients. Ginmon combines digital asset management through ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) with personal advice. In 2023, the FinTech will launch the B-to-B marketing of its asset management platform "apeiron", allowing financial service providers such as banks, insurance companies, and fund providers to offer asset management easily and quickly under their respective brand without needing to maintain the corresponding technology and expertise themselves ("white label" solution).
"We are very pleased that we can welcome Markus Pertlwieser as an advisor, an experienced strategist with substantial know-how in digital business models,” says Lars Reiner, CEO and Founder of Ginmon. “Markus has an excellent network in the financial industry and has already initiated many successful collaborations between FinTechs, banks, and insurance companies. His experience will greatly help us in our goal of making Ginmon’s technology platform number one for digital asset management in Germany."
Markus Pertlwieser was CEO of the FinTech Penta, a neo-bank for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and freelancers based in Berlin, until the end of 2022. Before joining Penta, he worked from 2008 to 2020 in various leadership positions at Deutsche Bank, most recently as a member of the board of the private and corporate bank as well as Chief Digital Officer. Pertlwieser began his career at the management consultancy McKinsey, where he was active in strategy consulting for banks and insurance companies from 2001 to 2008. Regarding his joining the advisory board of Ginmon, Pertlwieser says:
"I am convinced that digital asset management will fully exploit its market potential in the coming years. It is a straightforward and powerful investment vehicle for popular ETFs for customers. Both traditional and digital financial service providers can bring their market access and customer understanding into it. The greatest success will come to those financial service providers that permanently distinguish themselves from the market with the best technology and the smartest investment system."
The members of Ginmon's advisory board include:
Dr. Burkhard Bonsels (Ex-Senior Partner Quadriga Capital and BCG Alumni), Enis Ersü (Founder and Ex-CEO of ISRA Vision), Dr. Peter Haueisen (Ex-CEO Allianz Pensionskassen AG), Daniel Hoster (Head of Large Customers Germany, Wealth Management, BNP Paribas), Norbert Kistermann (Board Otto M. Schröder Bank), Prof. Dr. Wolfgang König (Ex-Dean House of Finance at Goethe University Frankfurt a.M.), Dr. Ulrich Meißner (Ex-Head of Marketing Communications, Deutsche Börse Group).
About Ginmon
The Frankfurt FinTech Ginmon is one of the leading digital asset managers in Germany, managing more than 300 million euros and serving over 12,000 customers. The clients' investment assets are invested in global and broadly diversified investment strategies with different weighting of asset classes. Ginmon's proprietary WealthTech platform apeiron® relies on a scientifically based, contrarian investment approach. Moreover, the innovative technology offers a unique tax optimization for complete utilization of the saver allowances. The ongoing adjustment of the algorithm to the chosen risk profile protects the investor from unwanted risk shifts within the portfolio. Ginmon's investment strategies incorporate not only the performance of around 12,000 individual securities from 103 countries but also real estate and commodities.
